American Idol Loses Another Contestant
Hi all — I’m home sick in bed, but of course, could not miss American Idol. I don’t have enough energy to review the whole show from last night, except to say… what is happening??? My favorites – Casey Abrams and James Durbin – were not my favorites last night. Wow. I have loyalty but it was time to shine for a few of the others.
My favorite of the night was Scotty McCreery. I loved that he did an Elvis song. He can certainly sing. Now if someone can mentor him about stage presence, how to hold the microphone, and move around on stage, that would take him to the next level.
I was a little surprised that Pia Toscano wasn’t as good moving around the stage as I would have expected. It actually made me like her a little bit more – seeing that she’s not completely perfect. She sang the song well as usual.
My predictions for bottom three this week: Jacob Lusk, Haley Reinhart, and Paul McDonald. I wouldn’t be surprised if any of the three went home, but I’m kind of leaning towards Jacob this week. And here is why… his style is a little more gospel than mainstream pop. His interview this week made him sound a little cocky. “If I’m in the bottom three it won’t be because I sang the song badly, it will be because America isn’t ready to look at the man in the mirror.” (paraphrased) Yeah… when contestants get to sound like they think they are amazing, it doesn’t seem to go over very well with America. But we’ll see how it goes.
Oh, and Gwen Stefani’s styling for Lauren… I’m sorry but it looked like she was on stage in a big plaid diaper. (Maybe it’s the flu speaking here, but boy it was not an attractive outfit or hair style for her.)

They have only themselves to blame. The judges used their “save” to early and casey sucks

I was absolutely shocked that Pia was eliminated tonight. I was so afraid something like this would happen, when the judges used their save so early. Why in the world would the judges save Casey, he has a nice voice, but he certainly does not have star appeal? What is wrong with this picture?
American Idol needs to change the way they do the voting. The judges should have 1/2 the votes and the callers the other 1/2.
I am just sick the way this happened and Pia was eliminated.
She is a true star and American Idol let her down. Shame on you.

What a travesty to let Pia go. The American public has no ability to judge the quality of the singers and after this farce, should not be allowed to vote. Only qualified signers – i.e. the judges – should be voting. The show has become a big joke and I for one will stop watching it and wait for X factor to come on. Goodbye American Idol

Casey does suck. What gives with the judges? Casey is at the bottom and should not have made the final 12. Tonight the 13th, the judges gave Casey a standing ovation which was not deserved. Casey cleared his throat over the mike. How rude! Casey was also pitchy!
Is someone paying the judges to give false representation for CASEY?
