David Foster to Replace Simon Cowell on American Idol?

Okay so I’m not really making an announcement on who will replace Simon Cowell on American Idol, but I personally think David Foster would be a top choice. He’s got the background, has helped develop so much talent in the industry, could be very honest and give great criticisms and feedback, and I think would be a great addition to the show.
I’ve heard other rumors of replacements for Simon, but most are simply celebrities who have not truly developed and nurtured talent in the music industry – we have one of those with Ellen (who I really like), but a replacement for Simon needs to be someone with credentials and true critique of the musicality and technique.
Anyone else have suggestions or thoughts?

Kara's really stepping up this season. I think she could replace Simon. Then they just need someone to replace her.
How they position that I'm not sure!

I totally agree! David Foster is the first name that came to mind when I heard Simon was leaving. It needs to be someone with industry clout and credibility. Also someone who is willing to give a reality check and I think Foster would be great.

Many diehards Idol fans don’t agree.
There’s a reason the last three Idol winners haven’t been glory-noting freaks.
If Foster replaces Simon, look for a return to loud, b!tchy, over the top divas.

They should have let Simon pick his replacement…however I do agree that David Foster would be an aweswome addition.

I remembered when he judged celebrity duet and he was brutaly honest. He would be the perfect fit!
