Thanks for your feedback. As a Christian myself, I feel as though we should embrace people for who they are, for their character and their hearts, and because each of us are children of a loving God. It is true that Ellen may not have a musical education or degree, but neither do most of us - we each select our favorites based on their talent and personalities. I think it will be interesting to see how to comes across once the true season begins.

As for Ellen's openly gay lifestyle... it's true that I do not personally agree with the lifestyle, but I also do not condemn someone because of their life choices. We can choose to agree to disagree.

I think that the Savior would teach us to love each other. We may not support a specific aspect of someone's life, but that does not mean they are not worthy of our love. None of us are perfected yet and each of us likely do things that others see as wrong or imperfect or different. I think there are many things worthy of boycotting because of the content - but not because one of the participants does not choose to live the way we live - it's likely that there will never be anything even mentioned about the gay lifestyle.

Why not learn to appreciate each other for our talents and abilities? And appreciate the fact that Ellen DeGeneres does much good in helping people and bringing joy to others - she truly cares about people. I celebrate the good that she does and think she will be a great addition to American Idol.

God Bless Us Everyone. :)

From a christian perspective I am very disappointed that Ellen Degeneres was allowed to be a judge. She is openly gay, not to mention that she is not even musicially inclined. She's a comedien not a musician. What kind of example are you setting. I am not alone with my thoughts. The Christian coalitian will be boycotting Americian Idol.
